08 October 2005:

Well, I'm back at UConn for the final year of my Electrical Engineering degree.  Unfortunately, most of my classes are lectures and my only lab is Senior Design.  However, I've got a really cool project!  I'm working with students from the Mechanical Engineering department in inventing a hydraulic system that will open up the coolant pumps for Westinghouse's nuclear reactors so that routine maintenance can be easily performed.  If we pull this off, our invention will be used all over the planet in their nuclear reactors and we'll have our names on a patent!  Not many graduating engineering students can say that!

Another semester of Air Force ROTC has also begun!  Tomorrow is Escape & Evasion at Devil's Hopyard!   However, because of the rain the nighttime activities have been canceled.  Blast!  Oh well.  At least I have memories of three previous E&Es to fall back on!  :-D  Once again, I am a squadron commander.  But since the wing has been completely reorganized thanks to the Inspector General, I am commanding a whole new squadron;  Communications Squadron.  Basically, we're responsible for the website, wing photos, and information management.  Basically, it's all the stuff that I love to do as a hobby!  We had a chair sale at one of UConn's football game's last month with the Army that was a lotta fun!  Winters and I had a blast taking humorous photos of us goofing off before the game began.  I'm also pledging for Arnold Air Society, which is a lotta fun.  They're basically the community service organization of Air Force ROTC.  I've always wanted to pledge but never really found the time.  So I figured that I'd better do it now before I commission!  I'm looking forward to this semester 'cuz I think we're gonna have a lotta fun!
My social life has been rather inactive lately in no small part due to the terrible illness that I came down with a couple weeks ago.  It kept me out of class basically the whole week and unable to do any homework.  So, of course, when I finally did feel better I had three exams waiting for me!  But I made it through them all relatively unscathed and now have to concentrate on catching up with the reading and the homework assignments.  This has been taking up the majority of my time as of late.
Despite my illness, however, I did manage to go to Sam Adams's Oktoberfest in Boston with Bryant & Bob.  Don't get me wrong, I love my gal pals.  But it's nice to get away from the female "distractions" every now and again and just talk to the guys about stuff you could never say to the "fairer sex".
Speaking of which, as I'm sure most of you are already aware, Amanda and I are in a relationship!  I've only begun to discover just what a brilliantly talented and driven young woman she is.  Her dedication really inspires and refreshes me and I don't think I've ever met anyone like her before.  I am really looking forward to our time together!  :-D  We've been together for nineteen days and we've seen each other every day so far!
