So, yeah, I've been a bad webmaster as of late. I allowed my schoolwork to interfere with my blogging duties and for that I apologize. My priorities have been out of whack.
An update? Well, okay. My life really hasn't been all that exciting lately. If I'm not working on my Senior Design project, I'm doing my Statics homework. When I'm not doing my Statics homework, I'm reading material for my Nanotechnology class. When I'm not reading material for my Nanotechnology class, I'm fabricating nonvolatile memory chips. When I'm not fabricating nonvolatile memory chips, I'm programming for my Digital Communications/Networks class. When I'm not programming for my Digital Communications/Networks class, I'm trying to make sense of my Analog Circuit Design class. When I'm not trying to make sense of my Analog Circuit Design class, I'm eating or sleeping. When I'm not eating or sleeping, Amanda is plucking my gray or grey, however you wanna spell it, hairs. At least I'm not balding.
...or I'm rocking out to the awesome, vintage 80s-style cassette tape deck during my commute to school! Every time all but one of the radio stations on my presets is playing commercials, the one remaining station that IS playing music is playing a song by Elton John? The thing is, I actually LIKE Elton John's music. And that's what pisses me off. I don't WANT to like Elton John's music. I mean, look at him! To borrow an expression from the Iron Bull, the man is a hotdog. There simply is no other way to describe him. Nevertheless, I enjoy the songs that he writes. It frustrates me.
So I guess what I'm trying to say is: when you're shaking up the orange juice container always make sure that the cap is securely fastened. Otherwise, the results may be explosive. And on that note, I'm off to do some laundry.
Farewell.

Well, it's no secret that I haven't really updated anything on this website other than the blog... you know, now that I think about it, "blog" kind of sounds like a monster from some campy 50s Creature Film. "Spring Break, Florida: teenagers flock from all over the country for swimming, dancing, bodyshots, and generally having a good time with friends - an escaped from classwork and school. But none of them can escape... "The Blog"!
I know that Impact isn't a very scary or 50s-monster-movie-type font, but unfortunately Homestead has a limited supply of font types to choose from. I'll have to write them an e-mail of complaint. Or maybe just forget about the whole thing since it's not really that important.
Anyhows, I'm sure you're all just DYING to know what I've been up to lately. Oh wait... the other parts of my website? No, my life has not been devoid of Random Stupidity lately. Nor have people stop confabulating with me... sometimes to my misfortune. But I don't usually get all that much free time at home. Usually I'm either eating or sleeping or drawing some kind of Free Body Diagram to some magical Civil Engineeringy device that I probably won't ever use. But when I do have time, some random holiday rears its ugly head in my general direction, like Easter or Secretary's Day. Then all the family comes over and starts bashing eggs together and talking politics and playing basketball and eating lamb. It's kind of difficult to create a webpage and play basketball at the same time. Though, I guess if I tried hard enough I might be able to pull it off.
So, when I do get to work on this thing, it's usually when I'm bumming around Amanda's, procrastinating and generally avoiding doing any type of schoolwork. Since everything I collect for Random Stupidity & Confabulationis at home along with the docking port for my digital camera, my webmastery is pretty much limited to random types of blogging about stuff that nobody really understands anyways.
I do have some new photographs of kayaking/beaver stalking, but I have no way of interfacing my camera with Amanda's computer at the moment, so on my flash card they shall remain for the time being. Stay tuned.
As usual, most of my day is spent working on my senior design project, -I have upcoming pix of that too!- specifically the wiring. We've got everything built and ready to go, I just have to connect it all together, which is what I'm pretty sure I finished doing today. Now, we just have to upload the program onto the RIO, get the RIO to interface with our handy-dandy touch panel computer and do some test runs. I can taste that $3,000 prize money now! It tastes like.... metallic ink.... and waxy paper.

29 April 2006:
I was up until 3:30 in the morning on Friday working on my senior design project, trying to find the PID constants that would make it run smoothly for Demonstration Day. And I was successful! However, some of the values were changed before the demonstration for the judges from Mechanical Engineering, which caused the system to oscillate quite a bit. They didn't seem too interested in the project in the first place. However, we were able to correct the error and it ran smoothly for the representatives from Westinghouse and the judges from the Electrical Engineering department. I think the ECE judges left very impressed, which is good considering we made them walk all the way to E2 to the ME demonstrations. After all the demonstrations and presentations, I was ready to finally go home - I had been at school for two days straight in the same clothing and very, very dirty from working on the machine for so long.
And so, I've been taking it pretty easy the last 24 hours. Without any projects or homework to do, that just leaves studying for my finals next week. So, I read a little Analog Integrated Circuits Analysis and Design and basically spent the day being lazy - enjoying it very much! I still have a paper to write for Senior Design and Nanotechnology but that can wait for a little while. I think I'll wait until tomorrow to start focusing on my schoolwork again, I've only got three exams this semester after all. Tonight, Amanda and I are going out to Charley's to eat and it is going to be good, seeing how we haven't been out to eat at a decent restaurant in quite some time - both of us have just been too busy. Summer is coming, work is coming, $$$ is coming, Arnold is coming! Can you imagine the heaven I'm in?
